The Living Urn with an Evergreen Tree (Pine, Spruce or Cypress) - Order Today for Fall Planting!

Even though our ordering window to have a Seasonal Tree shipped this Fall has passed, you can still get a hardy, beautiful evergreen tree shipped now!

Evergreen trees can be found on every continent except Antarctica. Unlike deciduous or “seasonal” trees that shed their foliage during winter, evergreen trees keep their leaves year-round. Many evergreen species provide valuable resources, including everything from lumber and firewood to medicinal ingredients and food.

Below are the three popular Evergreen trees offered by The Living Urn:

Pine Tree

Rugged. Lean. Enduring. If a tree could personify the West, it would surely have to be the pine. Writer Arthur Plotnik even called it “a Clint Eastwood of a tree”. It even lent its name to the ranch in the long-running western TV series “Bonanza.” Pines are long-lived, typically reaching ages of 100–1,000 years, some even more and one of America's most abundant tree species. Its fast growth and interesting features also make for a popular specimen or ornamental tree.

Spruce Tree

One of the most popular ornamental conifers, the spruce is a truly magnificent sight. Perhaps Donald Culrose Peattie described it best in A Natural History of Western Trees. "This insistently pretty tree displays its charms of tier on tier of branches graduated in perfect symmetry from the longest boughs that sweep the ground to the slender but strong top." Its coloring and perfect Christmas tree shape make this tree a great landscaping focal point on commercial and residential properties. It is also widely used for privacy or a windbreak. In the mountains of western Sweden scientists have found a spruce tree, which has reached an age of 9,550 years and is claimed to be the world's oldest known living tree.

Cypress Tree

Appreciated and popular for its rapid growth and slender shape, the Cypress tree beautifies landscapes over a large range of the United States. This evergreen darling provides great color all 12 months of the year with its fine, soft-green, pointed needles.  Moreover, it grows well in a wide variety of soil and climate conditions. This majestic gem contributes a sense of peacefulness and serenity to its environment.
