The Living Urn Indoors / Patio is a beautiful indoor planter cremation urn that gives families the ability to grow a living memory of a person or pet. This unique patent pending urn is made from high quality porcelain, comes in white, blue, or beige, and measures 9 inches tall by 9 inches in diameter. Select a bonsai tree or houseplant from The Living Urn, or order without a plant and simply visit your local nursery and pick up one to plant with the urn.

The proprietary growing system inside of the urn includes interlocking circular trays, and other accessories that help with the planting process, along with a compartment where your loved one’s ashes are placed. With The Living Urn Indoors, you also have the option to place cut flowers in the center of the urn to show an array of color year-round.

How does it work?

The Living Urn Indoors / Patio is simple and easy to use. It is designed with several chambers inside of the urn to create an optimal growing environment for the plant or bonsai tree. The outer chamber securely holds the cremated ashes, while the inner chambers hold the plant or tree along with the growing medium. We provide clear instructions on how to spread a small portion of the cremated ashes into the growing medium. This special cremation urn also comes with a matching porcelain lid, which helps secure everything in place and gives the urn a sleek, finished look.

Ficus Retusa Bonsai Tree

The Ficus Retusa Bonsai Tree, also commonly referred to as the Banyan Fig or Taiwan Ficus, displays beautiful small dark green leaves that alternate up the stem. Its bark has a distinguishable grey/reddish color and displays horizontal flecks, which can be compared to tiger-like markings. The Ficus Retusa trunks are trained in the curved shape. This special bonsai tree is one of the hardiest and easy to care for bonsais available. The Living Urn offers six year old Ficus Retusas that come approximately eight inches tall. It is recommended to plant this tree indoors or at over fifty degrees Fahrenheit outdoors.

The Braided Money is one of the most popular bonsai trees for feng shui as it is believed to generate positive energy. The Living Urn offers 8 years old Braided Money Bonsai Trees that are approximately twelve to sixteen inches tall. It is recommended to plant this bonsai indoors or outdoors over fifty degrees Fahrenheit.

The Hawaiian Umbrella Bonsai Tree is a stunning bonsai that provides a tropical look to any home. This beautiful bonsai tree displays small glossy green leaves shaped like umbrellas that create a dense canopy. This special bonsai is extremely hardy and tolerant. The Living Urn provides eight to ten year old Traditional Windswept Juniper Bonsai Trees that are approximately eleven to twelve inches tall. It is recommended to plant this bonsai outdoors on a patio or in a garden.

The Trained Tiered Juniper Bonsai Tree is a dwarf Juniper that originates from Japan and is one of the most popular bonsai trees in the U.S. These unique trees are easy to care for and can tolerate many condition. Given this, it is an excellent option for the beginner or somebody without a ‘green thumb’. The Living Urn provides thirteen year old Trained Tiered Juniper Bonsai Trees that are approximately thirteen inches tall. It is recommended to plant this beautiful bonsai outside on a patio or in a garden.

Houseplant options

In addition, The Living Urn Indoors / Patio also serves as a houseplant cremation urn. The Living Urn also provides select houseplant options (seasonal), including the Lucky Bamboo, Peace Lilly, Sago Palm, and Flamingo Flower. The houseplants we offer are an alternative to the bonsai trees and are easy to care for.

Many families will also purchase The Living Urn Indoors / Patio then visit their local nursery, hardware store, or grocery store to pick up a houseplant to plant with the urn. Any houseplant will work and The Living Urn comes with instructions on how to plant. Just be sure the root base is in a small standard pot (not to exceed 4” in diameter) so it fits in the center chamber of the urn.

Another option that is growing in popularity is to purchase The Living Urn Indoors / Patio and use the cup provided to place cut flowers in the center of the urn. These can add beautiful arrays of color to any home and can be switched out regularly. Families can place special bouquets in the center of the flower urn for a loved one’s birthday, anniversary, or the holidays throughout the year.
